about apperley hall farm

Apperley Hall Farm is a well established commercial enterprise specialising in the rearing of young cattle through to their finished commodity. Selling at live weight in local markets (Cirencester) or at dead weight to Dunbia (Sawley) throughout the year.  We farm 300 acres of mainly grazing land with an amount of arable, wheat and maize to feed self sufficiently to our cattle. Over the summer months we also make hay/graze aftermath on the adjoining Gloucester wildlife, Coombe Hill Wetlands 150 acres.

Quality from start to finish is our mind set.  All calves are sourced from one  local dairy farm which helps in bio security and the reduction of disease in cattle such as TB. Animal welfare is  of the utmost importance and with sourcing all calves from one location we hope to reduce the likelihood of infection and disease.

As well as selling cattle to the beef trade we also rear female Holstein Friesians on a calf rearing contract for dairy replacements to re enter the herd of origin.

Although we are commercial farmers, we are sensitive to  the environment. The whole farm is in  the Entry Level Stewardship Scheme and our lush wetland meadows have recently been approved Higher Level Stewardship managing for breeding waders and wildfowl alike.
